The Foundation

The New Hope Colony Foundation for the Arts was founded in 2018 by two local residents: Eleanor Miller, member of the R.A.D. Miller family and Brett Webber. It has been a lifelong dream for Eleanor to preserve the architecture and landscapes and to reestablish the original artist colony concept. Joined by fellow artists, patrons, philanthropists and friends of the arts, a board was established to bring Eleanor’s dreams to fruition beyond the confines of the English Village at Phillips’ Mill.

Mission Statement

Our Mission is to save, preserve, restore, and reactivate the artist community of the New Hope Colony centered in the Phillips Mill Historic District through the creation of a new global artist colony at the birthplace of Pennsylvania Impressionism and the New Hope School.

“Preservation is the key word here. To preserve this little corner of the world is a vision worth striving for,” explains founder Eleanor Miller of her support of The New Hope Colony Foundation for the Arts. "We are working hard to make it happen with the help of everyone interested in the preservation of the arts.”
